APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

Each applicant must meet the following but not limited to requirements to be eligible to apply for the No1sInfallible Scholarship and internship program:

​

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien

• Must be a bona fide resident of the state of Arkansas as defined by the Department of Higher Education for a minimum of 12 months immediately before the date on which the student applies

• Must be enrolled in a program of study that leads to or is creditable towards a field of health (i.e. psychology, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, allied health, public health, and/or health-related professions)

• Must certify they are tobacco-free and must pledge in writing on the application form to refrain from the use of tobacco

 

 

Scholarship Applicants must achieve a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA entering the program, but must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA throughout their high school years (9-12):

​

8th graders: must start the program during the summer break. During this time orientation, team building, Introduction to program(s), meet and greet staff, program training (Infallible Madness & OTM), first aid and CPR training will take place

9th graders: community service project, start cooking classes, etiquette & dining education and drivers education course

10th and 11th graders: professional grooming, etiquette training, and dance projects and community service project          

12th graders: course and project refreshers, final community service project, and awards ceremony.

 

Additional program projects will include but not limited to workshop training (life skills, alcohol/drugs/sex education and awareness, financial literacy, and education exploration (visiting colleges and prep assistance) and etiquette projects)

Students must reapply their junior year

 

 

Applicants must also demonstrate the following characteristics: 

  • Willingness to both learn, and lead

  • Desire to serve others

  • Desire to grow

  • Be helpful

  • Be respectful

  • Cooperative

  • Maintain good standards in school, home and your community 

  • Willingness to Volunteer a minimum of 2 weekends a month (Friday through Saturday during school days) and to be determined during summer vacation. 

  • Meet with program mentors and mental wellness counselors at designated times (ie in person or by phone or via Internet)

  • Demonstrate academic and personal excellence, as well as leadership qualities that promote alcohol and drug-free lifestyles

  • Willingness to promote, the mission and activities of No1sInfallible, infallible madness, OTM and the ability to work with a diverse group of people

 

 

Leadership development meetings will be held each month. This is to encourage camaraderie amongst leaders and provide effective techniques, communication, managerial, mentor and volunteer skills to excel in carrying out different project(s). Those on the executive board (i.e. president(s), secretary, and directors etc.) responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Serving as leaders

  • Steer committees

  • Execute decisions

  • Develop ideas, activities, programs and volunteer projects.

  • Workshop training (life skills, alcohol/drugs/sex education and awareness, financial literacy, and education exploration (college prep assistance and etiquette project(s)etc.).

SPECIAL EVENTS 

Two dinner events will be held. The first dinner is an introduction dinner. The volunteer ambassadors, parents, siblings, staff, sponsors, and mentors will come together for a meet and greet.

 

The second dinner will be the ceremony dinner. At this dinner, the volunteers will be showcasing their new found talents (ie. dance, etiquette, and professional dress code etc). Pictures will be taken and later displayed, and their dress code (2nd dinner)will be black tie attire (gowns for the ladies and tuxedos for the gentlemen).

Students will be receiving awards, certificates of completion, trophies and scholarships funds awarded to them. Sponsors, donors, partners, families, staff, mentors, volunteers, special guests and several forms of media are likely to be in attendance.

No1sInfallible gives special consideration to applicants who demonstrate financial need and/or are first-generation college-bound, bilingual, or from an ethnic or racial minority group considered to be underrepresented in the health workforce (i.e. Black American, Hispanic American, Native American/American Indian, Asian American, and Marshallese etc). Priority will also be given to applicants who have volunteered or are currently volunteering in our programs.
